fifty.fifty.me
So I happened across a post by Jennifer Brown on G+ yesterday talking about this challenge, fifty.fifty.me. It’s a 2012 challenge of reading 50 books and watching 50 movies. How awesome. And pretty perfect for me.
It doesn’t matter which movies or books as long as you’re actually reading, not skimming, and not rereading and rewatching things you’ve already enjoyed. There are a few other itsy bitsy rules, but more for clarification.
The reading part should be pretty simple. Although a book a week sounds daunting while I’m writing. I hate when new ideas crop into my mind as I’m working on something else. But I’ll make do. The movie portion sounds more difficult. This means purposely setting time aside and finding content I haven’t seen. It’s easy to have the television on Lifetime, but it’s rare they air something new. Although, TNT and A&E have been good about that lately. :)
No matter what, I’m excited. I just started two new books. Breathe My Name by R.A. Nelson and Wish You Were Dead by Todd Strasser. The latter’s an audio book, so they take longer for me to get through, but I have three other books on the coffee table from the library. And a good two dozen on my shelves that I haven’t read yet.
Okay, so I’m gonna shut up and get started! Wish me luck. <3
